Warm Fuzzy Feeling

I don't know why but it ALWAYS warms my heart each time I receive goodies orders from sons or daughters that wish to present their parents/moms/dads with a specially-made-to-order goodies :-) Just the thought of being able to make goodies for their beloved parents/moms/dads fills my heart with so much joy. A warm fuzzy feeling that fills my whole body...A feeling that I can't describe in words. Yeah, I guess I'm such a family oriented kind of gal. Family means the world to me :-)

Here's a cupcake set which I made especially for Liana's dad. She wanted to celebrate her dad's birthday & requested that I make some cupcakes with a Tiffany Blue color theme. Cupcake flavor was Orange Poppy Seeds With Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting.

Liana, it was an honor being able to bake for you & your loved ones. I hope you've enjoyed the goodies :-) Thanks so much for the opportunity & for choosing my goodies!

Button Fun Cupcakes

How do you create a birthday cupcakes for someone who's happy-go-lucky, jovial, fun & above all, a sweet kind of person? 

I was actually wrecking my brain trying to find the best design to truly reflect this sweet little lady when suddenly it hit me! Why not go for something that's sweet & fun, just like Ms. Haley herself :-) So I decided to come up with these button crazy cupcakes for her :-)

Sweet Flowery Cupcakes

Greetings & hello there everyone! How are you? I hope this post will find you in the pinkest of health & happiness :-) 

Gosh! I have to admit that I was pretty excited to be able to find some time to stop by here & say 'hello' to YOU! I have been wanting to interact with my goodies lovers & to update my blog but despite my best of intention, I just couldn't find any free time to sit a while & type my ramblings! Yup, life was terribly hectic! Like, super duper crazy hectic! You know the drill - baking, cooking, running errands...yada...yada...And to top it all, my hard disk have been giving me problems - AGAIN! Seriously, I think I'm just jinx when it comes to all these techy things :-( Blurghhhh! Other than that, I'm all good :-) I guess, hectic means good, right? At least that means I'm alive & kicking :-)

Any way, I sincerely wanted to just stop by here to greet each & every one of YOU :-) Wanted to let you know that I've been thinking of my goodies lovers :-) *flying kisses* 

Now that I've done that...I guess it's back to my busy schedules ( and sorting out my hard disk issue & hoping that I'll be able to retrieve my lost data! ) :'(

Friendship

When I first met this bubbly group of gals, the first thing that struck me was how wonderful their friendship is :-) And I just love that about them! They share everything together - laughter, joy, sadness, everything!

Friendship is one of life's greatest treasures...It is to me. It's something I value deeply. So when I was asked by these lovely gals to create a birthday surprise for one of their best friend, Syikin, I was indeed over the moon with happiness & truly honored :-)

Engagement Cupcakes

I have always loveeee making wedding/engagement goodies. I guess you could say that I'm a softie when it comes to lovey dovey things.Yea...yea...hate to admit it but I'm such a romantic fool *blush*

You can imagine then how excited I was when my dear friend, Ms. Nurul called me up, requesting that I make an engagement cupcakes for her. Nurul plan to present it to her friend who's getting engage. What a sweet gesture :-)

So excited I was about creating Nurul's goodies that I decided to take the plunge & try my hands on making some handmade fondant roses. Do bear in mind that I've NEVER done handmade fondant flowers before so this was a BIG step for me :-P

Short Notice Wedding Cupcakes

Short notice orders always send me into a frenzy & cause ultimate panic attack! :-P You REALLY wouldn't want to see me during those times as I will 'magically' turn into a berserk person - hair flying in all directions, heart beating non-stop, running all over the house like a headless chicken & all! Ha! Ha! But really, I turn into such an ugly hag each time I receive last minute orders. Hence why I usually shy away from such orders :-P

However, I just can't deny Ms. Fauziana's last minute order when she called me up asking for some cupcakes. How could I say 'no' as it was for a very special occasion - a wedding! Now you know what a romantic fool I am, right? How could I say no to wedding goodies? Absolutely a no-no! :-P

Fauziana's request was for some Chocolate Moist Cupcakes with a pink & purple theme. And her other surprise was that she'll be picking it up at 3am! Yes, you've read it correctly. 3 am as in three in the morning :-P Understanding her dilemma in preparing the wedding & all, I agreed to help her out & come up with this set of cupcakes :-)

Smiley Cupcakes

A simple Smiley Cupcakes I did for Ms. Fiza :-) Fiza's order was for Chocolate Moist cupcakes with chocolate ganache & decorated with smiley faces :-)

To my dear Fiza, thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to create your goodies :-) Though it was a short notice order, I have to admit that despite the time constraint, I really had so much fun 'playing dough' making the smiley faces :-) Thank you & hope your special someone enjoyed the cupcakes ;-)

Candylicious Princess Cupcakes

I'm not sure about others but to tell you honestly, I always...always...& I really mean ALWAYS get super excited when I'm asked to do goodies for children :-) There's just something magical about making goodies for them :-) Not sure what it is but I assumed it's the 'little kid' that we have inside of us, no matter how grown up we are ;-)

Imagine my excitement when I'm asked by Ms. Chia Ying to make a set of birthday cupcakes for her little daughter ( or was it niece?...Geez, old age is really catching up with me! ). Her request was for a Chocolate Fudgy Cupcakes with a mix of some Candylicious Cupcakes. And the part that I was so excited about was obviously the theme/decoration :-P After much discussion over the phone, I understand that Chia Ying wanted a sweet pink color theme and that she wish to incorporate some Disney's Princesses on the cupcakes...How cute a theme, right?

Anddddddddddd....Here's my take on it ;-)

Seriously, one of the best time everrrrr! I had sooooo much fun making this :-) I even made some extra cupcakes loaded with candies as gifts! :-P

Sincere thanks goes out to Chia Ying for choosing my goodies & for giving me the chance to create her cupcakes. I do hope that she had enjoyed it & that it brought a big smile to little Chloe's face :-)

Hhmmm...Suddenly I feel like watching some Disney's cartoon :-P Probably something with princesses in it ;-)

'Just Married' Cupcakes

It is always a big thing to me when someone chooses my goodies to be a part of their special occasion, more so when it's for a momentous event like their wedding day. A huge honor indeed for lil baker me :-) 

Made these 'Just Married' cupcakes as requested by Ms. Zati :-) Zati requested for Carrot Walnut & Lemon Cream Cheese cupcakes with some pink/purple color theme & I was more than happy to bake it for her. I've always have a soft spot for anything romantic like weddings, so you can imagine my excitement baking these goodies ;-)

Hhhmmm....I really don't have much to 'talk' about this cupcake order because:-

1. I've lost ALL the photos in my hard-drive, which included these goodies :'( I'm just lucky to have found this one photo in my Facebook Page album to serve as your 'eye-candy' :-P

2. I don't see the point of 'talking' much when there's no photo to feast your eyes on...A post with no photos is one boring post! Don't you agree?

All I can say for this post is that these goodies were ordered by dear Miss Yong, not her real name but it's a name that I've grown accustomed to calling her :-) The word 'Yong' actually means 'big sister' in some northern part of Malaysia. He..he..Did I just managed to insert some language tutorial here? *chuckles*

Any way, Yong's order was for 50 pieces of Orange Poppy Seed Cupcakes with Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting. She requested for a simple deco as it's for her family's gathering dessert pleasure :-)

It's always a pleasure baking for Yong & as always, I've enjoyed baking these goodies :-) Thank you Yong for your order & most of all, for your love & support :-) Hugs!

Baking has always been my passion...It used to be simply a hobby of mine but thanks to the support of family, friends & some sweet strangers I met via the online cake & bake community ( who are now my dearest of online friends ), my passion is now a lil home-based goodies business :-)

I remember when I got my first order...I was practically a nervous wreck! And yes, I still am one till now *blush* I somehow can never get rid of the nervousness :-P I guess my nervousness is a good thing in a funny way as it will serve as a reminder to myself to do the very best for each of my goodies :-) 

I am obviously new in this venture of mine and yes, I do still have tonnes to learn but receiving orders from around my local community really help boost my confidence in creating my goodies. So when I started to get orders outside of my local area, I'm beyond speechless!

Greetings & hello there goodies lovers!

Hoping all is well with you & your loved ones *flying kisses* Been wanting to update my blog as often as possible but I somehow couldn't manage to do so *sad face* So much has been happening plus, with the Ramadan & Syawal month recently, 'lil old me was swarmed with 1001 chores. Busy time indeed! 

To be honest, my few coming posts might be a bit 'short & simple'...Why? Well, I had to resort to some very basic & simple post entry in order for me to be able to catch up with my other long overdue post(s) :-P I tell you, I do have TONNES of pending posts in my draft box! Hope you don't mind the 'quickie' style entry as it's the best possible way ( that I can think of at the moment ) for me to clear my draft box :-P Ermmmm, that is if I can stop yapping - like what I seem to be doing right now!

Gosh! I'm such a yapper! No wonder I have loads of pending posts stuck in my draft box! I just can't stick to my supposedly 'short & simple' entry! Okay..okay! I'm so trying to stop my yap right this second!

Here's my Peanut Butter & Jam Cupcakes With Nutella topping which I made specially for Ms. Farah, all the way from Sungai Buloh, Selangor. Farah requested 50 pieces of this & I was more than happy to bake it for her. I have to admit that this is one of my personal favorite cupcake flavor...I mean, who wouldn't like a peanut butter base cake with strawberry jam filling & a 100% Nutella topping?!! :-P

As you can see from the photo, I stick to a very simple deco as requested by Farah herself. According to Farah, she just wanted to enjoy the goodies as it is - no frilly deco or anything of the sort ( just how I like my cupcakes when I eat it! ) :-P

An Angel Indeed

What does one do when one received a cake order from a customer?...Nothing serious, right? Just bake the cake & move on, I would say...Well, let me rephrase my question then. What does one do when one received a cake order from a customer AND customer requested for a mermaid figurine ( Princess Ariel to be exact! ) to accompany the cake? Errr, do bear in mind that THAT someone has never made a figurine in her life! I guess by now you already would have guessed that THAT someone is me :-P

Here's what actually happened the moment I received such a request from my dear customer, Miss CKN...I honestly 'blanked out' & if my jaw could physically drop to the floor, it really would! I was so panicky & repeatedly told CKN that I've never done any figurine...Even suggested that she try another baker. Yes, I really was THAT panicky + scared + nervous + oh you know all those feelings! CKN however wouldn't budge & lovingly insisted that I do her cake.

For dayssssssss ( and I really mean for days! ), I literally sat down staring into space wondering what I'm supposed to do. You have to know that I have never EVER done any figurine modeling before. Heck! Even as a kid, I fail at playing plasticine. Can't even shape a decent apple from plasticine, so how am I supposed to make a mermaid figurine with fondant?

Yes, I did turn to You Tube & try to learn on how to make fondant figurine from all the videos they have online but being a first timer, I was totally lost! Being all panicky didn't help too. I must have been too nervous that nothing I see on You Tube actually registered into my brain :-P

I was about to give up ( even plan to call CKN & tell her that she'll have to make do with a toy or something to replace the mermaid figurine ) when I suddenly decided to try my luck and seek help from one of my online cake idol, Lesley of Royal Bakery.

Let me tell you that it took me a lot of courage to write up an email to her & tell her of my dilemma. Embarassing too, I might add *blush* I was desperate & as the saying goes, desperate people do desperate things :-P Lesley was my last hope & to be honest, I really didn't expect a reply from her. I've decided that should I not hear from Lesley, I definitely ( and reluctantly ) would call CKN & tell her that I'm not able to come up with her mermaid. When I press the 'send' button from my email, I was really leaving it to chance :-P

Imagine then my surprise when I received a reply from Lesley. Not only was she kind enough to reply to all my inquiries, she even went out of her way to guide me on how to make the mermaid figurine. Honestly, I was so inspired by Lesley's patience & dedication that I finally gathered enough courage to start making my first ever figurine!

Now, the world premiere of my very first figurine :-P
