Mojo

Hello there peeps! Hope every one is in the best of health & happiness :-) I know...I know...It has been quite sometime since I last post anything here ( too long maybe! ) :-P I'm pretty sure that by now some of you must be wondering why the lack of news on my blog...Whether this blog is still active or just collecting dust ( erkkk! )...Or maybe some even noticed that there was not much updates on either my blog, Facebook & even Instagram!

Well, I have no other reason other than this four letter word - MOJO. Yup, I somehow lost my mojo for blogging :-( I just can't seem to find the words or mood to type even a short decent post! I have been trying for so many times, trust me. I would actually go through all the motions ( day & night ) like switching on my laptop, stare into my laptop's screen, look at my keyboard trying to make up words...and blank! Nothing! Most of the time I'll end up staring at my screen & in the end just walk away from my laptop. Heck, to be honest, I even lost my mojo for all my other social media - be it Facebook, Instagram or even WhatsApp. Yea, I guess I have been sort of a recluse these few weeks ( or even months! ). Totally lost my social media mojo! :-P Any one seen it around? He..he..

Mojo...Blojo ( that's what I call my blogging mojo ) or whatever it is, tonight I decided that I'm just gonna go ahead & just type whatever comes to mind! It's time for me to find back my mojo :-P So baby step it shall be for now....Lil baby steps back to my blogging & social media :-P

For now, let's start with this simple fondant cake order which I received from Ms. Tuan Ira. Tuan Ira requested for a Fudge Cake with a simple design as part of a wedding ( or was it engagement? ) dowry & she wanted it in black color with some yellow color to make it pop :-)

Here was what I came up with...and am really happy to report that Tuan Ira was delighted with the outcome when she came to collect her cake :-) Yipee!

Owhhh! Please pardon the lack of proper set up & the extra lighting that came with the cake's photo...It was night time when Tuan Ira came to pick up her cake & I was not able to find a decent lighting & background at that time :-P

My sincere thank you to Tuan Ira for giving me the opportunity to create her cake & for trusting me to come up with my own design for her cake. It was great fun making your cake & I truly appreciate it Tuan Ira. Thank you! :-)

Hhhmmm...I guess that's it for today :-) Hoping that my mojo/blojo will come back to me 100% soon so that I can share all my other goodies creations with you ( yes, there's tonnes of it still stuck in my draft box! ). Till my next post, a very good day to all! Catch up with you soon! ✗o✗o

Blessings

Making cakes & goodies for my loved ones has always been my passion...When my passion turns to a full time job, I don't consider it a burden but a blessing :-) Yes, I loveeeeeeeeeeee making cakes & goodies for my family, friends & of course my customers. Nothing makes me happier than to see that big smile on someone's face when they receive goodies that I especially created for them. Priceless!

It is indeed a blessing knowing that my cakes & goodies get to be a part of someone's special day...Days like the occasional birthdays, engagements, weddings and even baby showers :-) A blessing that I forever hold dear & close to my heart :-)

So when someone chooses my cakes & goodies to be a part of their special moments continuously, now that is another feeling all together! That I would say an honor indeed :-) This is such the case with dear Ms. Fieza, who's staying all the way in Klang ( about 1.5 hour drive from my place ).

From her lovey dovey dating years to her engagement day, I was given the opportunity to create her goodies years after years :-) And finally, when she called me up saying she wanted me to create her wedding cake, of course I couldn't help but to feel deeply touched & honored!

I wanted so much to convey my gratitude & thanks to Fieza for her continuous support all these years, so I decided to create a special cake for her special day. A cake that reflects all of Fieza's personality - sweet, bubbly & of course her kind heart :-)

Cake flavor was American Carrot & Walnut Cake ( bottom tier ) & Red Velvet Cake ( top tier ). Fieza's favorite colors are purple & pink so I decided to create her cake with all her favorite colors :-)

And here's my creation, a special one just for Fieza....

Now comes the best part about making this cake...Apart from being commissioned to do Fieza's cake, I was also invited to be a part of her special day! How wonderful is that? :-) It touched me tremendously that Fieza included me as one of her guest. All I can say is that her wedding was such a beautiful wedding...A perfect day filled with so much love & joy! Here are some of the photos that I managed to capture :-)

To my dear Fieza, my heartfelt congratulations to you on your beautiful union. I pray that your marriage will be blessed with lots of joy, good health & endless love. Happy Wedding Day sweetie!

Thanks all for dropping by & reading through my post. Till next time, have a blessed day ahead & enjoy! ✗o✗o

Hens Party Cake

*Naughty mode activated!*

Yup, that was exactly what I did upon receiving Ms. Haley & Ms. Roe's order request for a hens party cake, which they are hosting for their dear friend, Ms. Mal :-P Making naughty cakes can be so much fun...but it can also bring out the devil in me, which is a big NO-NO! Ha...ha...Like seriously, my imagination can go wayyyyyyyyyyy wild! :-P

Honestly, I was all geared up to create some XXX hens party theme cake but luckily Haley & Roe 'warned' me in advance that they wanted something 'tame' :-P I guess they know how 'crazy' I can be! *chuckles*

Anyway, after days of figuring out the 'safest' theme for the cake, I finally decided to go with a simple yet sexy bikini set ;-) Haley & Roe had earlier on requested for a shocking pink color cake with zebra's print on it so I did my best to incorporate that onto the cake :-) Here's the final outcome...

Hens Party Cake :-)

Fudge Cake With Vanilla Buttercream
& Full Fondant Deco

It was really fun making this cake actually...Extra fun as it's my first time trying out the zebra pattern. Hope I nailed the design! :-P

My sincere thanks goes out to Haley & Roe for giving me the opportunity to create their special cake. It is always a pleasure baking for you dearies! *flying kisses* In case I haven't told you before, thank you so much for your continuous support!

Owhhh! Haley was also kind enough to share photos that was taken during the party :-) Boy! Looks like they had sooooooo much fun! Million thanks Haley for sharing with us your photos :-)

The Girls Having Fun :-)

That's it for now & I hope you've enjoyed my post :-) Till next time, big hugs to all! ✗o✗o

Challenging Myself

Being somewhat of a self taught cake maker, I have to admit that I still lack lots of cake skills & knowledge *blush* Hence why each time I receive some special project cake requests, I couldn't help but to cringe & head to the nearest cupboard to hide myself! Ha...ha...ha...Yes, that's how much of a scaredy cat I am about making fancy cakes :-P I mean, I'm still okay with creating simple cakes but fancy cakes are not really my specialty as I feel I still have loads to learn before I'm good enough to create such cakes.

Imagine then my reaction when dear Ms. CKN called me up requesting for a Canon EOS 7D cake! Yup, I literally whimpered with fright! *chuckles* I have to admit that this is not the first time CKN dropped me a bomb with her fancy cake requests. She did in the past requested a few fancy cakes such like her dinosaur & her Princess Ariel theme cakes but this camera cake is by far the 'fanciest' one she ever requested! I initially wasn't too sure about accepting her order as I honestly feel that I won't be able to pull it off! But just as her previous orders, CKN urges me on to just give it a try & gave me her 101% support. She even told me that she'll accept whatever the outcome of the cake will be, just as long as I give it a go & push myself to at least try making it! How great is she?!! My goodies lovers are simply the best! They are indeed the wind beneath my wings!

After some sleepless night ( out of fear! ) & a few insecure moments, I finally finished CKN's camera cake...This is the end result of it :-P

CKN's Birthday Gift For Her Beloved Hubby :-)

To my dear CKN, there are just no words to describe how much I value your support & friendship. You've always believed in me & my cake journey. My sincerest thank YOU to you my dear. Hugs!

To my goodies lovers, here's one thing I learn from this experience of mine...No matter how insecure you feel, never let your insecurities hold you down. Just tell yourself to 'Just Do It'! It doesn't matter how bad the outcome might be, the important thing is that at least you've tried :-) And from there on wards, you can always improve yourself :-) That's what I did ;-) My cakes might not be the prettiest or perfect but at least I've tried...and that's the best gift I can ever give myself :-)

Simple Red Velvet Cake

It is always a pleasure baking for my goodies lovers, especially when it's for one of my biggest supporter & true goodies lover, Ms. Anim :-) This time her order was for a simple deco Red Velvet Cake With Lemon Cream Cheese Frostings...

Red Velvet Cake With Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting

Sincere thanks to you Anim for always supporting me :-) Sending you big hugs & lots of love my dear! ✗o✗o

Another Experience Gained

Most of you who have been following me will know that I am just a simple baker who baked simply based on my passion :-) No knowledge in cake baking, never been to any classes/courses & definitely never had any basic skill where cake making/decorating is concerned :-P What I have been doing all this while is truly based on my passion & what I call my 'play dough' sessions. Sessions where I simply put on my apron & whip up cakes or play with my fondant :-P

So you can imagine my surprise when a dear friend of mine, Ms. Dilla & her fiancee, Rexxa, requested that I make their wedding cake! I was actually beyond surprised! More like super scared really! Here I am, a little home baker & am being asked to bake a wedding cake! I was mortified! Plus, the fact that Rexxa is a chef, really didn't help ease my insecurity! *ha! ha!*

To be frank, I really did say 'no' to them as I was THAT insecure with my skills...but thanks to the non-stop peep talk & encouragements from Dilla & Rexxa, I finally gave in & agreed to create their cake ( but not without warning them that the cake might be a disaster! ).

One thing I do love about this lovely couple is how hands on they are & how they 'held my hands' throughout the process :-) Knowing that I'm quite new with wedding cakes, they went out of their way to assist me in any way they possibly could, from providing me with various sample designs & meeting me up over coffee to discuss about the cake. I could never thank them enough for their support & for believing in me *sappy moment*

The moment finally came & this is what I've created for their special day...A novice work to some but a HUGE stepping stone for me :-)

Black & White Themed Wedding Cake

The Lovely Couple & Their Wedding Cake :-)

To my dear Dilla & Rexxa, I know this post is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy overdue but believe me when I say that never a day passed by without me sending you a silent prayer. Prayers of gratitude & of happiness for the both of you :-) From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in me & for trusting me enough to create your wedding cake. I pray that your days will always be filled with endless love & happiness :-)

To my readers, thank you for visiting my blog & for always showering me with your encouragements. Much love to each & every one of YOU ✗o✗o

Not The Usual Birdie

Being someone from the 'Jurassic Era' ( yup! I'm really THAT old! ), I have to admit that I'm totally behind on all these computer/online games. People around me would be squealing with excitement over games of Candy Crush, Angry Birds, Farm Heroes, Clash Of Clans & all those fancy games but lil old me would just be contended playing Scrabble :-P Yes, I'm really an old-school kind of gal *blush*

Imagine then the blank look on my face when dear Ms. Hamiza called me up requesting for an Ice Bird theme birthday cake :-P I was like "What? Say it again? What bird? Sorry but I'm not familiar with that type of bird but do tell me details so that I can Google it" :-P I can still remember Hamiza giggling out loud over the phone. Ha...ha...I must have sounded like a silly hag asking all the weird questions about THIS bird but I really have no idea what Ice Bird was! *chuckles*

Luckily Hamiza took the time to explain to me that Ice Bird is a character from one of those online games - Angry Birds. No wonder I've never heard of it! *face palm* Hamiza requested that I work out a cake design around this Ice Bird character for her son's birthday & this was what I came up with ;-)

It's Ice Bird!

Chocolate Moist Cake With Chocolate Cream Cheese Filling & Frosting

Though I'm not familiar with the character, I really did my best to do justice to Ice Bird :-) Hamiza, I sincerely hope that you & your son are happy with the outcome of my creation :-) It was an honor indeed baking it for you & I thank you for giving me the opportunity to create your son's special cake :-)

Thank you all for reading my post & I hope you enjoy looking at my cake photos :-) Till next time, much love to all! ✗o✗o

Decorating With Buttercream

Decorating cake with buttercream have never been my forte. In fact, if I could be bluntly honest, I find it quite intimidating :-P No matter how many time I practice, I just feel that my buttercream decorating skill is wayyyy below par. Those slight uneven cream or not sharp edges can really irk me at times. That is when my OCD goes to hyper drive! And I have to tell you, it's not a pretty feeling! Usually by the time I'm done with my buttercream decoration, I'll be truly drained! Just covering a cake with buttercream layer would take me hours! Yeah, I'm THAT petty! *chuckles* So you can imagine how many hours I usually take to finish covering & decorating a cake :-P

Any way, when I was requested by Ms. Hasnita to create her Chocolate Moist Cake, I was feeling rather 'daring' & decided to try something different. This was what I came up with ;-)

Chocolate Moist Cake With Chocolate Buttercream

To my dear Hasnita, sincere thanks for giving me the opportunity to create your cake & for your continuous support. I have to admit, I really had fun making your cake :-)

Thanks all for taking the time reading through my ramblings ;-) Much love to all of ya! ✗o✗o

Tom & Jerry Birthday Cake

My heart skipped a beat & practically went straight to my throat when I received Sue's phone call :-P She was wondering if I could come up with a birthday cake for her nephew within a few short hours :-P I don't know why, but short notice orders could really send me into a frenzy! I'm easily panic & can really get cold feet! :-P I guess that's because I'm such a beginner when it comes to cake decorating ( despite being involve in cake baking for years ) :-P I'm a self taught cake decorator, so as you can guess, I'm pretty 'novice' when it comes to creating cake designs *blush*

Anyway, Sue being one of the sweetest person that I've known, I just don't have the heart to disappoint her, so I accepted her order ( while praying that I'll manage to come up with a decent looking cake! ) :-P Her request was for a Tom & Jerry themed birthday cake. With the time constraint, I wasn't able to let my imagination flow freely so this was all I could come up with :-P

Tom & Jerry Themed Birthday Cake

Fudgy Cake With Vanilla Buttercream

My dear Sue, I sincerely hope that you're happy with the outcome of your cake :-) My sincere thanks for choosing my goodies to grace your special occasion :-) Thank you sweetie ✗o✗o

Thank you all for reading & I bid you a good night! ✗o✗o

Quirky Me :-P

Having a slight case of an Obsessive Compulsive Behavior ( better known as OCD ), I have to admit that I have a few quirky things that I just HAVE to do each time I'm about to do my baking, especially when it's for goodies order :-P In fact, come to think of it, it's more like a 'ritual' :-P Errmmm, nothing major, just little things like giving my eggs their 'bath & scrub'...washing & rinsing all baking containers/bowls that I'll be using a day before ( even though I've washed it before! )...wiping my tabletop at least a few times with sanitary wipes just so my working area have that 'germ free' feel :-P Oh! I also have to go through all my baking tools ( especially the cake pans & spoons/ladles/scrappers ) the night before just to make sure there's not even a tiny speck on it :-P

If you think that's weird, let me tell you THAT is only a fraction of the things I would go through before I start my baking projects...You wouldn't want to know the other 'rituals' I go through during & after each project! If I were to tell you now, I'm very sure that this post will be a lengthy one! So let's just skip that & allow me to save you from a major boredom! *chuckles*

With all my quirkiness, I guess you can imagine how 'crazy' I became when I was commissioned this dinosaur themed birthday cake order by Ms. CKN :-P I practically had to channel my inner 'Karate Kid' self! Wash...and wipe! Wash....and wipe! Washhhhh....and wipe again! Yup, that pretty much sum up what I did to the toys that I place on the cake :-P Took a bit of self control on my part not to wash the toys till the color wears off! :-P

Okay, enough of my yapping...Here's the cake I created for CKN's son. It's a Peanut Butter Cake with peanut butter filling & vanilla buttercream :-)

Dinosaur Themed Birthday Cake :-)

A special note to CKN...Dear, you've been such a strong supporter of my work all these years & nothing makes me happier than being able to create yet another goody for you & your family :-) From the bottom of my heart, thank YOU for the love...for the support...for the encouragement...and most of all, thank you for your friendship. It means the world to me! :-)

Would love to yap more but I need to excuse myself for now...Quirky me have to do some 'rituals' for an order tomorrow :-P Till my next post, wishing all a good night & sweet dreams! ✗o✗o

Hello Kitty!

It was such a slow day today that I decided to clean-up my laptop's folders...A tiring & tedious effort I might say, especially so when I'm one of those non-technical kind of gal :-P After a few hours, my eyes started to see stars & I decided that I'm done for the day...I was cleaning up one last folder when 'tadaaaaa'! Yup, I came across a few photos of my goodies! The ones that went 'lost' when my laptop went kaput before! Too bad it's only a few photos out of the many that were lost. But hey, I'll take whatever I can ;-)

Nevertheless, I'm just happy to have found this...It's my Hello Kitty cake :-) I have to admit that it's of sentimental value to me as it's my very first Hello Kitty cake. You know how each 'first project' means the world to any cake maker, especially for a beginner caker like me :-)

This cake was requested by Ms. Iezah, who wanted a Hello Kitty birthday cake for her daughter, Rahimah. I was pretty nervous at first yet excited at the same time :-P After a few discussion, Iezah told me that she wanted a pink theme cake & that she's giving me total free rein on the design. How cool was that! Free rein - best thing to a cake maker! :-)

Here's what I came up with...

Hello Kitty Theme Birthday Cake

Vanilla Cake With Strawberry Jam Filling
& Vanilla Buttercream

To my dear Iezah, thank you so much for your order but most of all, thank you for trusting me to create your daughter's cake. It is indeed an honor being able to bake for you :-)

That's it for tonight & hope you all have enjoyed my post :-) Much love to all, as always! ✗o✗o

Little Treasure

Remember in my previous posts how devastated I was when my laptop went kaput & 'swallowed up' all my goodies photo albums? Yes, I'm still very sore about it as those goodies photos of mine means the world to me. It's basically a 'portfolio' of my work throughout my cake making journey. It's truly unfortunate that despite all my efforts, I never did managed to recover those photos of mine :-(

Imagine then my sheer delight when somehow, while scrolling through my Facebook, I saw this cake photo which I did a while back! And yes, it's one of the photos that was 'deleted' by my kaput laptop before!

I'm not taking any more risk of losing yet another photo ( which to me is like little treasures ) so I decided to upload the photo here & blog about this cake. Plus, I never did get the chance to post it before as my laptop went kaput, along with all the original photos :-P As the saying goes, better late than never, right? ;-)

Too bad I only found one photo of the cake...But I guess it will suffice. Better to have one photo to treasure, than none at all! ;-) Any way, this cake was requested by dear Ms. Farhani. If I remember correctly, it was a gift that she wish to present to her dear friend in celebrating her friend's wedding day. It was to be a part of the wedding dowry :-)

Farhani's request was for a Fudge Cake With Vanilla Buttercream Frosting & that the cake to be striking pink. According to her, her friend loveeeeeeeeeeees striking pink :-) Here's the cake that I especially design for her friend...

Striking Pink Themed Wedding/Dowry Cake

To my dear Farhani, I know this post is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy overdue. My sincere apology dear as I wasn't able to blog about it before due to the obvious issue of all my photos went missing :-( Couldn't blog about your cake if I have no cake photo/s to show, rite? :-P But here I am blogging about it now ;-) I would like to take this opportunity to convey my sincere thanks for giving me the chance to create your special gift to your friend. Thanks so much for your continuous support my dear. It means the world to me! ✗o✗o

Hhmmm...Though the chances seemed so slim, I do hope that I'll be able to find more of my little treasure photos soon ;-)

Till next time, much love to all! ✗o✗o

Frilly Cake Try Out

A confession...I'm a super crazy gal when it comes to cake stuffs :-P I honestly go crazy when I see all those cake items, be it at any of my local cake supply stores or those online cake sites! You might say that I'm a cake-stuffs-shopaholic ( though my hubby says I'm more of a cake-stuffs-hoarder! ). Either way, I'm super guilty! :-P

How does one control one self when one sees all those wonderful cake items that can miraculously turn a plain looking cake into one of those fancy looking ones?!! I for one, just can't help it! Plus, I super need all the fancy cake items to 'beautify' my oh-so-plain-looking cakes :-P

My cake room ( it's actually a store room, but I want the room to sound fancy, so bear with me...he..he.. ) is already overflowing with various kinds of cake stuffs - lace moulds, cutters, cake pans of all sizes, stencils, tappits, you name it! So much so that hubby dearie has lovingly warn me that there can never be any more cake stuffs purchases UNLESS I start using some of it. Oh ya! Did I mention that I haven't even use half of my cake stuffs yet? Hence the 'warning' from hubby dearie :-P

Here's when my 'raid-the-store-room-and-better-start-using-the-unused-cake-stuffs' project started! In order to make sure I'll be able to continue with my 'cake-stuffs-craziness', I'm slowly taking out my 'toys' & having a go with it. To be honest, I didn't use most of the cake stuffs that I've bought because I actually am 'scared' to use it! In case you don't know, I got into this cake making business without any knowledge or experience on cake decoration/making *blush* Just slowly trotting through this journey based solely on my passion & my crazy 'play dough sessions' :-P

One of the cake toys that have been 'hidden' in my cake room is a set of frill piping tubes set. Now, the reason I haven't use this is because I'm not confident with my piping skills. Heck! I barely can make a full straight line with my plain No. 1 piping tube! So you can imagine how using a frill piping tube scares the living light out of me :-P

PME Frill Piping Tubes Set
*Image Taken From The Wide World Of Web*

So when a dear sweet friend called me up to request a birthday cake to celebrate a double birthday - her's & her little princess's, the first thing that came to my mind was a frill cake. What better decoration to suit such sweet ladies other than something frilly & girly, right? ;-) Perfect excuse for me to use the frill piping tube!

After much sketches on my drawing pad ( yes, I'm old school & I still do my cake sketches on papers...he..he.. ), I finally decided on a cake design for dear Tunku Muna & cutie pie Princess Wan Zanariah :-)

Heart Shaped Cake With Frills,
Flower & Butterflies Design

Cake Flavor : Peanut Butter Cake With
Vanilla Buttercream Frosting

To my dear Tunku Muna, I am truly humbled to be given a chance to bake & create both yours & Puteri's cake. Nothing beats the joy & happiness that I feel from being able to make goodies for my loved ones. For this, I THANK YOU, Tunku Muna ✗o✗o

I guess that's one cake stuffs tried & used! :-P Maybe I do need to practice more in order to improve my piping skills *chuckles*

Well, that's it for today's post...Now excuse me while I do some 'treasure hunt' & see what other cake stuffs 'hidden' in my store room that I can use for my next project ;-)

Toddle-loo & much love to all!

A Cake For That Special Someone

Hello there goodies lovers!

As one might have noticed, I've been absent from blogging for quite some time :-P And yes, I've been receiving some inquiries and even some complaints ( my bad! ) on why I have been away too long :-P Sincerest apology for the longggggg hiatus my dears. Yours truly have been quite tight up rushing out orders & attending to the never ending tasks of living *sigh*

Any ways, as much as I hate to admit it, I'm wayyyyyyyyyyyy behind on my post, so in order for me to catch up to my recent goodies post, I think I will have to resort to a 'quickie' or maybe I should call it a 'drive-by' kind of post for my coming blog's post ;-) Hoping by doing this I will be able to clear my 'draft box', which is sadly collecting dust :-P

So here goes my first 'drive-by' post...

This Red Velvet Cake was ordered by dear Miss Yaya to celebrate her special someone's birthday :-) Yaya especially requested for a simple deco kind of cake & here's what I came up with ;-)

Ahemmm...Please do pardon my not so fancy photos ya :-P I had to make do with these two photos as my photo master folder has been 'swallowed up' by my laptop, which crashed some time ago :-(

Red Velvet Cake

Yaya my dear, my sincerest of thanks to you for choosing my goodies to grace your special occasion. I know this post is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy overdue & I truly apologize for this *bad...bad girl I am!* Much love to you dear ✗o✗o

Till my next 'drive-by' post, toodle-loo my dearies! Yours truly need to go bake & settle some M&M's Chocolate Chips Cookies orders! Much love always! ✗o✗o

A Mom's Love

I managed to grab some free time today & decided to use the time to update my blog. So here I am! Yeayyyy! :-) Now, what shall I blog about today? Hhhmmm...Oh! Now I remember! Today's post will be about a cake that has a special place in my heart...

Now, before I yap away, please bear in mind that this was not one of my recent cake but it was actually made for an order some time ago. The reason that I only get to post about it now is that I finally found a few ( yes, just a few - two to be exact! ) photos of it. In case you've missed out my earlier blog's posts, my laptop went kaput & together with it was ALL my photo albums, including all my goodies photos :-( I'm still upset about it but tried as I might, I'm just not able to retrieve any of it :-( I'm just lucky to stumble upon a few of my goodies photos in some of my folders that I managed to 'revive' :-P

Through-out my baking journey, I've baked & made quite a few cakes. Each & every one of my cake has a special place in my heart...yet this cake remain as one of my favorite. It remain as one of my favorite not because of it's design or the process that I went through creating it but because of the person that ordered it - Ms. Dayang.

From the moment I received the call from Dayang, I could feel the excitement in her voice :-) So much so that till date, I still can remember each step of our discussion. Dayang called to inquire about a cake that she wish to have for her son's, Khalis Haikal, birthday.

And here is what I remember most about Dayang - her love for her son. From start & throughout each of our discussion, I could feel the love emitting from Dayang. It's really hard to explain but that is exactly what I feel each time Dayang speaks of her son & the cake that she has in mind :-) Dayang explained that her son has a favorite teddy bear & wanted me to incorporate it into the cake. She even took the trouble to snap the teddy bear's photo & sent it to me as reference :-)

The love she has for her son really touched me & I was determined to do the best that I could. Do bear in mind that at this moment of time, I totally have no idea on how to make or create a figurine!

The day of delivery finally came & imagine my relief when I met Dayang :-) She practically had the biggest of smile on her face upon seeing her son's cake :-) Really, just looking at her face makes it all worth while. Dayang, thank you so much for choosing my goodies to grace your son's birthday. It was indeed a pleasure baking it for you...but most of all, it was a pleasure to meet such a loving mom like you. The love you have for your son really touched me & I was so inspired by it. Nothing is more priceless than a mom's love & you've definitely proven that :-)

My Stiletto Experience :-)

Being a baker who have zero knowledge in cake baking & decorating, I rely purely on my passion to go though this cake journey of mine. Yes, I really know zilch about caking ( is there such a word? ) but that didn't stop me from dreaming that one day I'll be able to make good looking cakes with beautiful designs like those made by Peggy Porschen, Pink Cake Box or even Buddy the Cake Boss. What big dreams, huh? *blush* I know I have a longgggggggggggggg way ahead of me to even have a quarter of the talent that they have :-P Heck, I can't even ice a cake properly at the moment! :-P In all honesty, I know I might never be as good as any of them but as I'm really passionate with this hobby of mine, I guess I'll just try my utmost best doing what I love most ;-)

One cake design that I've always admire is shoe/stiletto theme cakes. I've seen so many beautiful shoe/stiletto cake designs around & had always wonder if I'm capable to ever come up with one :-P I'm dying to try making one but I have to admit that it's also one cake that's in my "I'm-so-scared-to-try-making-that-cake" list :-P Not only am I scared, I'm practically terrified to even make an attempt as I've no idea on how or where to start! Each time I thought of trying it out, I had to quickly push the idea aside as my heart start to beat faster & my hands go all sweaty! Sounds a bit melodramatic, I know...but that's how terrified I was! :-P

Then one fine day, came a call from Mr. Zul...He called me up to request for a stiletto theme cake to be presented to his-wife-to-be on their special day. Now, how can I say 'no' to that! I definitely wouldn't want to be the grouch who says 'No, I can't make that cake for you because I'm scared to make one', can I?!!

For daysssssss I had to peep talk myself & gain as much courage as I could muster into making the stiletto...Finally, after tonnes of trial & error, here's the result of it :-P

Red Velvet Cake With Lemon Cream Cheese

My sincerest of thanks to Zul for the opportunity & for trusting me enough to come up with your special cake. It was indeed an honor baking for you & your 'Shoe Queen' :-) Wishing both of you congratulations & may happiness follow you two wherever you go :-)

Well, that's the end of my first ever experience in making a stiletto cake...It may not be as perfect but one thing I do learn from this experience of mine is that no matter how terrified you are at making something, never let your fear stop you from even trying it. Just try as you'll never know what you'll be capable of ;-) As for myself, now that I've tried it, I definitely need to practice more ;-) After all, practice makes perfect, right?

I'm off for now...Thanks so much for sharing my experience & hope you've enjoyed my babbling :-P Hugs to all! ✗o✗o

Oppsieee!

Day in...day out...week in...week out...month in...month out...and whammm! It's already the new year! Gosh! Time flew by so fast & without even realizing it, I have unwillingly abandoned my blog :-( I'm so sorry for this. Trust me, I really feel bad about abandoning my blog. Not that it's my intention to do so but honestly, what with my baking commitments & running my daily life ( like a headless chicken, I might add! ), I wasn't able to 'steal' time long enough to sit down & update my post :-(

Today I finally managed to clear my schedule & allocate some free time...So here I am - blogging! Yeayyy! :-) I hope every one is doing great & that the new year is treating you well. Ohhh! Is it too late to wish every one a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2014? :-P Well, as they say, better late than never, right? *blushhhh* Any way, with all sincerity & from the bottom of my heart, I'm sending out much love & wishing each and every one of YOU a Happy New Year 2014! I pray that the new year will shower you with much love, good health & prosperity. I also would like to take this opportunity to convey my sincerest of thanks for all the love, support & encouragement that you, my goodies lovers, have blessed me with all these years. Your love means the world to me & I pray that I'll be lucky enough to have your continuous support :-) Thank YOU!

Okay, time for me to clear up my longggggggg overdue postssss that has been 'sitting' in my draft box, collecting dust! Yes, take note of the many 'ssssss' when I mention the word 'post' earlier - it's that many! :-P

First post to be out of my webby draft box is this Naked Red Velvet Cake that I had the honor to bake for sweet, Ms. Edur, whom ordered this for a bridal shower party :-) The bride-to-be happen to be a dear friend to us both, Ms. Tia :-) Errrr, here's the thing...This post is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy overdue that at the time I'm typing this, sweet Ms. Tia is already a happily married wife & a mom!

Going Naked!

Whoaaa! Don't let the title of this post freak you out :-P I promise, it's nothing vulgar! Just read on & you'll see ;-)

A simple cake with a slight touch of frosting - some call it naked cake...Some call it bare cake...Some even call it rustic cake. Yes, I call it naked cake, hence the title of this post :-) See, I told you it's nothing vulgar ;-)

Whatever you call it, I just have to try it - again! I've actually done something similar before for my previous order. That's where dear sweet Ms. Shafaleena saw it & requested that I make one for her engagement day. Always the romantic fool, of course I jumped up with joy for the opportunity :-)

To my sweet friend, Shafaleena, I know this post is wayyyyyyyyyy too late, but I just want to wish you all the best in your future. May you find tonnes of happiness & joy in your new life's journey :-) You're such a wonderful person & I know deep in my heart that you'll be blessed always ✗o✗o
