Candylicious Princess Cupcakes

I'm not sure about others but to tell you honestly, I always...always...& I really mean ALWAYS get super excited when I'm asked to do goodies for children :-) There's just something magical about making goodies for them :-) Not sure what it is but I assumed it's the 'little kid' that we have inside of us, no matter how grown up we are ;-)

Imagine my excitement when I'm asked by Ms. Chia Ying to make a set of birthday cupcakes for her little daughter ( or was it niece?...Geez, old age is really catching up with me! ). Her request was for a Chocolate Fudgy Cupcakes with a mix of some Candylicious Cupcakes. And the part that I was so excited about was obviously the theme/decoration :-P After much discussion over the phone, I understand that Chia Ying wanted a sweet pink color theme and that she wish to incorporate some Disney's Princesses on the cupcakes...How cute a theme, right?

Anddddddddddd....Here's my take on it ;-)

Seriously, one of the best time everrrrr! I had sooooo much fun making this :-) I even made some extra cupcakes loaded with candies as gifts! :-P

Sincere thanks goes out to Chia Ying for choosing my goodies & for giving me the chance to create her cupcakes. I do hope that she had enjoyed it & that it brought a big smile to little Chloe's face :-)

Hhmmm...Suddenly I feel like watching some Disney's cartoon :-P Probably something with princesses in it ;-)

All The Cupcakes But Only A Photo To Show

To those of you who didn't know of my recent horrible incident, allow me to tell you...My hard-disk recently went berserk & with it, all my goodies photos were gone :-( It was such an upsetting thing & till date I have not managed to retrieve all the lost datas & photos. Bahhhhhhhhhhhh!!

Any way, here is one post where I only managed to find ONE ( yes, just one! ) photo of the goodies that I did for dear Ms. Izan. She actually ordered a three ( 3 ) sets of cupcakes for a family gathering. As usual, I did snapped all the goodies photos, which unfortunately was 'swallowed' up by my condemned hard-disk :'( Gosh! I seriously wish I could do something to get back all my photos *sobbing*

Izan's order was for a set of Orange Poppy Seeds cupcakes ( 16 pieces ), a set of Vanilla Strawberry & Vanilla Choc Chips cupcakes ( 30 pieces ) & a set of Candylicious Vanilla cupcakes ( 12 pieces ).

Yup, all those goodies & I only have one photo to post here :-( Boo hoo...I missed my photos! Here's the only photo I have of Izan's goodies...

Family Tree Cupcakes

With ribbons & cake boards strewn around me and not to mention me being surrounded with cupcakes & cupcakes toppers, it was a 'lil bit like being in one of those 'DC Cupcakes' episodes :-P Auwww...come on, a girl can dream, rite? ;-)

Urrmmm...As you can surely notice ( by looking at the date on the cupcakes ), this is definitely a much...much...MUCH backdated post! Ngeeeeeeeeeeee! Am soooooo guilty of 'neglecting' my blog :-( Well, to be honest, I don't mean to do so but busy baker me was sort of 'buried' in the kitchen under tonnes of flour these last few weeks ( or should I say months! ) and couldn't get to my lap-top fast enough to update my blog. Am soooo guilty! *sad face*

Anyway, this unique looking cupcakes was the brainchild of Ms. Tanti, a dear friend & loyal customer of mine :-) She wanted to do something different to celebrate her daughter's 1st birthday & came up with a family tree theme. What she didn't tell me was how to go about doing it *eekkkkkkkkkk!!* All I got from her was a rough idea on how she wants it to be ( plus a drawing of her family tree ) & the rest, as she sweetly say to me, 'I'll leave it up to you'...*oh dear...oh dear*

After much figuring around & some wild imagination, I finally came up with an idea of making a simple yet sweet family tree birthday cupcakes for little Ms.Tya ( that's the name of Tanti's daughter ) :-P

Truthfully, the cupcakes set was quite HUGE! I could see from the look Tanti gave me when she picked up her goodies, that even she didn't expect it to be that huge *giggles*

I had to admit that it was really fun doing this project...It sort of give me a glimpse of what it would be like being in those 'DC Cupcakes' episodes...Ha! Ha! Yea...yea...Me & my dream world! *blush* On a serious note, I sincerely would like to thank Tanti & her family for trusting me to come up with such a unique goodies for dear cute Tya's birthday. It was indeed an honor to be a part of her special day :-)

Tanti, thank you for always being there to support me & this new found passion of mine. Big hugs to you sweetie!

Candylicious Cupcakes

It always amazes me what one can learn from a child.....One thing I always tell myself, never brush aside a child's idea, no matter how bizarre it seems :-) I learnt one such lesson when my dear BFF, Rozie, called me up & told me of her daughter's, Myra, special request for her birthday cupcakes :-)

Here's what Myra wanted in her cupcakes - lots & lots of chocolate, candies & marshmallows. Not forgetting a lollipop to go with each cupcake :-P Myra even hand-picked her choices of candies & marshmallows :-) My 1st initial thought was, 'Oh dear! I wonder how that's gonna taste like' :-P

Thankfully I was given some ample time to come up with a new flavor for Myra's birthday cupcakes :-) Boy! I do love it when I get to play around with recipes :-P After several trial & error, I finally came up with the perfect cupcake flavor ;-) A vanilla buttercake as a cake base with splashes of colors in it...Something I'm sure kids will be delighted to see in their cupcakes :-) I then top it up with a layer of chocolate ganache & finally decorate it as per Myra's wish - lots of gummy candies, Skittles, marshmallows & a lollipop :-) Truth be told, I loveeeee the taste! :-P It just reminds me so much of my childhood, you know those times when you're just so crazy over candies & chocolates ;-) Myra, you're such a genius! :-)

Mini Town Cupcakes

Parents to baby Khayr, Lilia & Khairul are such a devoted & loving parents that one simply can't resist sharing their joy & delight in bringing up their one and only son. Honestly, from the first time I met Khayr, I've fallen head over heels in love with him! He's such a bubbly & happy baby, infact I honestly could say that he's THE happiest baby I've met so far...and I've met quite a number of babies :-) Just thinking about Khayr makes me want to squeeze him in my arms & hear those contagious giggles of him :-P

It's a no brainer then on why I got all excited ( practically jumped with joy! ) when I received a call from Lilia, telling me of her intention in ordering a birthday cuppies to celebrate Khayr's 1st birthday. What an honor!

So excited was I over this that I decided to do a special birthday cuppies for Khayr - his own 'Mini Town'! An idea which was inspired from one of my best childhood toy, Lego :-) I really had so much fun doing the cupcakes deco. It kind of transported me back in time :-P

Recently ( much to my delight! ), Mona introduced my goodies to one of her office-mate, Ms. Maz Aznee. From Maz's first e-mail, I could already sense what a jovial & happy-go-lucky person she is. I liked her the moment I received her peppy e-mail :-P Maz mentioned that she's having a school reunion & wishes to order my Chocolate Moist cupcakes with butter cream. Knowing what a special occasion it was ( plus I was feeling generous at the time! ), I added chocolate ganache to top the Chocolate Moist cupcakes :-P ( I loveeeeeeeeeeeee reunions! ) Oh! I also did some hand-made cupcake toppers ;-)

I've always loved it when I received new clients & orders :-) My heart couldn't resist a little flutter each time it happened...Not only do I get to share my baking products, but it also gives me an excuse to 'play dough' & expand my imagination in creating the goodies...

I recently received a call from Sheena who wishes to order cupcakes for her darling daughter, Aliya's birthday...Aliya is turning 9 years old & according to Sheena, Aliya loves the color pink & blue...Sheena also requested that I put two names on the cupcakes as Aliya will be celebrating her special day with her best friend, Alisa ( Ain't that so sweet! )...

While taking down Sheena's order details, my mind was already running wild thinking of all the decorations that I'm going to do for Aliya's birthday cake cuppies ;-) I couldn't help flashing back & remembering the times when I was at that age...Oh! How I love birthdays during that age! I still do, though I don't enjoy blowing out the ever growing candles on my cakes :-P

Brownies, Cupcakes & A Wedding

Yes, I finally did it! My first wedding order :-P Phew! After weeks of sleepless nights & days of anticipation, my first big wedding order went on smoothly, much to my delight!...I have to admit that it was such a wonderful experience ( and definitely a nerve-wrecking one! )...My expectation to excel in this project was over the top as I'm doing it for one of my special & strongest supporter, Ms. SHAR ( by now she's Mrs. Jas ) ;-)

When SHAR first approach me with her 'dessert table' idea, I was pretty ecstatic...and when she further told me that she wants me to do her 'dessert table' goodies, my jaw practically dropped! Me? Baking for a large wedding reception?....I was so nervous that SHAR practically had to cajole me several times :-P Not wanting to disappoint SHAR, who is not only my strongest supporter, but also a great friend, I finally agreed to cater her 'dessert table' goodies...

Armed with the support of family & friends who encourages me that I can do it & with the help of a fairy, Ms. RR ( thank you so much for your help & tips ), here are the goodies I've prepared for SHAR's special day :-)

I have to admit that throughout this experience of mine, one of my proudest moment was seeing my cupcake tower...It may be just a normal sight to some of you, but it's a sight that will always have a sentimental value to me...I was all giggly & smiling with happiness after setting up my cupcake tower :-P I even made some special wedding theme cupcake picks @ toppers to add on SHAR's cupcakes...From I first start setting up the cupcake tiers to putting the last minute touches on the cupcakes, it generated quite a stir from others who passed by...I was beaming with pride ( give me a chance! it's my first tower after all...he..he...) when the official wedding photographer showed a keen interest in my cupcake tower & he even snapped lots of photos of it :-P Here are some of my personal snapshots...
